Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- Stocks opened higher on Tuesday as bargain hunters bought recently beaten-down shares at relatively attractive prices, though trading remained cautious amid concerns about the impact of the latest fuel price hike on the macro economy.

Many investors also remained cautious ahead of earnings and dividend declarations, market operators said.

The benchmark DSEX index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 11 points, or 0.21 per cent, to 5,456 by 11:00am when the report was filed.

The blue-chip DS30 index advanced 2 points to 2,082, while the DSES index, which tracks Shariah-compliant stocks, gained 4 points to 1,083.
