Bangladesh, Sept. 29 -- Stocks opened higher on Tuesday as investors continued to show buying interest in recently beaten-down shares at relatively attractive prices, although trading remained cautious amid concerns over the macroeconomic impact of the latest fuel price hike.

Advertisement The prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) gained 22 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 5,548 by 11:30 am, as buying interest emerged in selected issues.

The market remained positive despite the government's latest increase in fuel prices. Meanwhile, falling global oil prices provided some relief, potentially limiting the impact of higher domestic fuel costs.
