Stocks jump at opening after five-day plunge
Bangladesh, Sept. 15 -- Stocks opened sharply higher on Tuesday, snapping a five-session losing streak, as bargain hunters returned to the market amid signs of easing in Bangladesh's energy crisis.

Investor sentiment also received a boost from the Dhaka Stock Exchange's (DSE) move to meet the country's top 30 brokers to discuss the reasons behind the recent market plunge and explore possible ways to stabilise the market.
Market operators said the reported resumption of gas supplies to industries from Tuesday, coupled with the DSE's planned meeting with leading brokers, provided some relief to investors following the recent sell-off.
