Bangladesh, Oct. 14 -- Standard Islami Bank PLC held a workshop titled "Shariah Compliance in Banking Operations" at its head office on 14 October 2026.

The aim was to make Shariah compliance, the foundation of Islamic banking, stronger in every function of the bank, according to a media release.

Managing DirectorRiad Mahmud Chowdhury chaired the workshop. Members of the bank's Shariah Supervisory Committee, Dr. A. S. M. Toriqul Islam and Mufti Dr. Mohammad Imam Hossain, attended as distinguished guests.

Dr. Toriqul Islam stressed that ethical values and exemplary conduct are essential in Islamic banking. Mufti Dr. Imam Hossain explained why Shariah compliance matters, what must be done, and how to do it.
