Dhaka, May 12 -- Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC organised a workshop on thalassaemia and voluntary blood donation program in association with Bangladesh Thalassaemia Hospital at the Corporate Head Office of the bank as part of its' 25th anniversary on Tuesday.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the bank, Mr Mohammed Younus, was present as the Chief Guest and formally inaugurated the event. The Associate Professor of the Department of Hematology, Dhaka Medical College Hospital Dr. Mafruha Akhter (Rumana) presented various information and data about Thalassemia in the workshop.
