Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- Shares of Apex Foods climbed nearly 20 per cent to Tk 311.50 on Monday, emerging as the top gainer on the Dhaka Stock Exchange, after the seafood exporter reported record annual profit for FY26.

The company's profit more than doubled to Tk 81.03 million in FY26, compared to the year before, driven mainly by higher revenue and increased finance and other income, according to a stock exchange filing on Monday.

The strong earnings growth came despite a challenging environment for Bangladesh's shrimp exporters.

The country's total shrimp exports fell to $285 million in FY26 from $300 million a year earlier, according to data from the Export Promotion Bureau.
