Bangladesh, Aug. 18 -- Prof Mobasser Monem has stepped down as chairman of the Public Service Commission (PSC).

He tendered his resignation on Tuesday noon, a commission member confirmed it to the media.

Monem, a professor in the University of Dhaka's Department of Public Administration, was appointed chairman of the Public Service Commission on October 9, 2024.

He assumed the post a day after then PSC chairman Md Sohrab Hossain and several other commission members resigned following the change in government after the July Uprising.
