Bangladesh, Oct. 4 -- Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Iqbal Hasan Mahmood asked the private liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) operators to continue importing the cooking fuel to ensure its smooth supply in the domestic market.

He warned against hoarding of LPG, which could create artificial shortages and cause public hardship.

The meeting, chaired by the minister, was arranged on Saturday immediately after receiving a complaint leading importers were hoarding LPG.

The importers, however, denied their involvement in hoarding of LPG and assured the government of continuing LPG import.
