Dhaka, March 25 -- Government offices, banks and financial institutions reopened on Tuesday after the Eid-ul-Fitr holiday, as employees gradually returned to the capital despite expectations of a subdued workweek.
Alongside government offices, lower courts and the stock market also resumed operations on the same day.
Office hours returned to the regular schedule of 9:00 am to 5:00 pm after being shortened during Ramadan. During the holy month, office hours were from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival for Muslims, was celebrated on March 21. A seven-day government holiday leading up to the festival ended on Monday, March 23.
