Dhaka, March 4 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today (Wednesday) issued a directive for intensifying the tree plantation programme across the country.

The premier gave the directive while he was presiding over a meeting of the cell formed over planting 25 crore trees throughout the next five years, BSS reports.

The meeting, held at the Cabinet Division Conference Room in the Bangladesh Secretariat this morning, reviewed the latest progress of the cell's activities, said Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman.
