Bangladesh, Oct. 15 -- The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submitting online value-added tax (VAT) returns for July-September 2026 to October 25.

In a notification issued on Thursday, the revenue authority said the deadline had been extended to facilitate the filing of VAT returns through its electronic VAT (eVAT) system.

The extension follows the issuance of the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026, which amended provisions relating to VAT return filing after the expiry of each tax period.

The NBR said administrative changes were required in the eVAT system to incorporate the amendments to the law.
