Nayeem harassment probe recommends action against more police officers
Dhaka, June 28 -- A police investigation has found wrongdoing by officers in the harassment of Bangladesh national cricketer Nayeem Hasan.
The probe report was submitted on Sunday to Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasan Mohammad Shawkat Ali.
Speaking to bdnews24.com, the commissioner said the committee had identified those responsible and recommended action against several additional police members beyond those initially disciplined.
He added that the committee had also made several other recommendations.
The incident occurred on the night of Jun 12, when a law enforcer stopped an autorickshaw carrying Nayeem at Lalkhan Bazar and took him to Khulshi Police Station.
