Bangladesh, Aug. 25 -- Money changers have set a new exchange rate to bring stability in US dollar transactions in the open market.

This came as the rate in some cases was found to be extremely volatile in recent days.

Under the latest decision announced by the Money Changers' Association of Bangladesh (MCAB) on Monday, those affiliated with the body will buy each US dollar at Tk 125.50 and sell it at Tk 126.50.

The association called upon the Bangladesh Bank (BB) to rigorously monitor the exchange rate offered by non-MCAB money changers, who were blamed for the ongoing volatility in the Taka-US Dollar pricing in the open market.
