Bangladesh, Sept. 8 -- Road Transport and Bridges, Shipping and Railways Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam has called for addressing all weakness in the management of the country's road network to correct those in the future plan with genuine data.

Advertisement He also said road safety approach instead of transportation should get priority in the design.

All future decisions on the road construction and maintenance should be evidence-based on data and information collected from damaged roads and from accident-prone areas, their analysis and evaluation, he added.

He further said, "Instead of making assumptions-based decisions, accident data should be used in future road construction and the planning of major projects."
