Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat on Tuesday called for the withdrawal of the High-Risk Cargo & Mail (HRCM) status imposed on its airways exports, citing recent security upgrades and satisfactory safety audits.

Advertisement The minister made the call during a meeting with British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke at the Secretariat on Tuesday, a statement said.

The minister noted that the HRCM status, imposed by the European Union in 2017, has significantly inflated cargo handling times and operational costs.
