Dhaka, May 5 -- A man was killed after being hit by a truck in Puthia upazila of Rajshahi district on Tuesday.

The accident occurred around 7:00 am in the Biraldaha Mazar area on the Rajshahi-Dhaka highway, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Akkash Ali, 32, a tailor by profession. He hailed from Thanapara Mohalla under Charghat upazila of the district.

According to police, Akkash died on the spot after a sand-laden drum truck hit him while he was crossing the highway.

Officer-In-Charge (OC) of Paba Highway Police Station, Mozammel Haque confirmed the incident.

He said the body was handed over to the victim's family members, and a case is being filed in this connection.
