Maiden quarterly MPS today
Bangladesh, Sept. 30 -- Bangladesh Bank walks a tightrope in balancing private-sector credit expansion and inflation contraction as it unveils the country's maiden quarterly Monetary Policy Statement (MPS) today.
The central bank has already decided to maintain its existing monetary policy stance for the time being, as inflation has yet to lose steam.
The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC), in a meeting on September 23, kept the policy rate unchanged at 9.50 per cent, citing risks from volatile global energy prices, the recent increase in domestic fuel prices and implementation of the new pay scale.
