Dhaka, March 12 -- Magura farmers have been expecting a bumper yield from Boro paddy cultivation this season as the DAE estimates production to reach 122,450 tonnes of rice, worth approximately Tk 5.0 billion.

Sources at the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) said a total of 39,535 hectares was brought under Boro cultivation and DAE incentivised growers with seed, DAP and MOP fertilisers.

Abu Talha, a farmer of Magura Sadar's Norihati village, said he cultivated Boro paddy on two bighas of land with incentives from DAE. "We have been receiving smooth supply of fertiliser. I am optimisic to achieve a bumper production."
