Bangladesh, Oct. 16 -- The Local Government Division has ordered suspension of all new and ongoing tender and procurement processes for public works, goods and services until the necessary rules are framed and a new rate schedule is published under the Public Procurement (Amendment) Ordinance, 2026.

The directive was issued in a circular signed by ABM Ariful Islam, senior assistant secretary of the Administration-1 branch of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on Thursday.
