Dhaka, May 5 -- A 22-year-old woman died after being struck by lightning in Mohammadpur upazila of Magura district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Maria, daughter of Dabir Sheikh of Lankarchar village in Boalmari upazila in Faridpur district, reports UNB.

Officer-In-Charge of Mohammadpur Police Station Ashraful Zaman said Maria was seriously injured after being struck by lightning while working at home. She was taken to Mohammadpur Upazila Health Complex for treatment.

Hospital sources said she died around 3:00 pm while undergoing treatment at the health complex.
