Bangladesh, July 29 -- Professor Dr Mohammad Sohel Rana of the Department of Pharmacy at Jahangirnagar University (JU) formally assumed office as the university's new Treasurer on Tuesday.

He took charge at a brief ceremony held in the Council Room of the university's Administrative Building.

The event was attended by Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan, the two Pro-Vice-Chancellors (Academic and Administration), leaders of the Teachers' Association, student representatives, and leaders of the university journalists' associations.

Prof Kamrul Ahsan praised the new Treasurer's capabilities, expressing confidence that the university would benefit from his leadership.
