Bangladesh, Sept. 3 -- Unitholders of SEML IBBL Shariah Fund are facing uncertainty over their final returns on investment at the fund's maturity, as the auditor has expressed doubts about the recovery of a Tk 110 million deposit from EXIM Bank.

Advertisement The closed-end mutual fund, managed by Strategic Equity Management Ltd (SEML), will mature on February 16, 2027. Its unitholders will decide next month whether the fund should be converted into an open-ended scheme or liquidated.

The fund's trustee, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), has scheduled a special general meeting (SGM) on October 27 to determine its future, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
