Dhaka, March 16 -- The government has appointed new chiefs to three major units of the Bangladesh Police - the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Special Branch (SB).

The appointments were announced in a notification issued by the Police-1 branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (March 16).

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Chattogram Range Md Ahsan Habib Palash has been appointed director general of RAB, while Additional Inspector General of Police at Police Headquarters Sardar Nurul Amin has been made chief of SB.

Additional Inspector General of Police at Police Headquarters Mosleh Uddin Ahmed has been tasked with leading the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
