Dhaka, March 1 -- Retired officials and employees of Grameen Bank (GB) have threatened to launch a tougher movement after Eid-ul-Fitr unless their demands for monthly pensions, medical allowances and festival allowances are met immediately.
They made the announcement at a rally held in front of the National Press Club in the capital on Saturday.
Addressing the rally, Md Mahbubul Alam, president of the Grameen Bank Retired Officials and Employees Welfare Council (Kalyan Parishad), said the Ministry of Finance had issued circulars in 2004 and 2016 providing for monthly medical allowances, festival allowances and pensions for retired Grameen Bank officials and employees.
