Dhaka, April 16 -- Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani today (Thursday) said the government has set a target to generate 10,000 megawatts of solar electricity by 2030 to address the energy crisis.

"For this purpose, the cabinet meeting discussed approval of the 'Renewable Energy Policy 2025', 'facilitating investment in renewable energy projects', and proposals for expanding renewable energy," he told a press briefing at PID at the Secretariat, BSS reports.

Earlier, a cabinet meeting was held this evening with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in the chair at the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat.
