Bangladesh, Oct. 6 -- The government is considering a formal policy to bring NGOs and private companies into public service delivery and programme implementation, aiming to make such partnerships more transparent, competitive and accountable.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury said the government already works with NGOs and the private sector in several areas, but the arrangements lack a defined policy framework.

"We are working without a policy. We started through the creative economy. Now we have to work on how to institutionalise this," he said.
