Bangladesh, Aug. 28 -- The government plans to form an expert panel for the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) as the state-run metro-rail company continues to face various challenges in planning, developing and operating the country's highly technical urban transport system.

Advertisement The Road Transport and Highways Division (RTHD) has sought opinions from relevant stakeholders and suggested names of experts who could potentially serve on the panel.

Sources said the DMTCL board decided to form the panel at its 81st meeting. According to the RTHD, all relevant agencies were informed of the government's initiative through a letter dated 16 August, with 15 days given to submit their responses.
