Dhaka, March 3 -- The government on Tuesday instructed all RMG factory owners to pay workers' wages for February within the first seven working days of March and to disburse festival allowances by March 12.

Factory authorities have also been asked to pay half of the March wages in advance, following discussions between workers and management.

Regarding Eid holidays, the government advised factory owners to consult with their respective workers and take decisions accordingly.

The directives were issued at the 94th meeting of the Tripartite Consultative Committee (TCC) and the 24th TCC meeting on the ready-made garment (RMG) sector, held at CIRDAP in the capital.
