Dhaka, June 8 -- The government has appointed six education cadre officials as new chairpersons of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) and five education boards across Bangladesh.

The appointments were made on Monday by the Secondary and Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education, bdnews24.com reports.

Chattogram Government Commerce College Vice-Principal Fakhrul Mawla has been made the new chairperson of the NCTB.

Mymensingh Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Examination Controller Syed Akhtaruzzaman has been appointed chairperson of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

The current chairperson of the board, Khondoker Ehsanul Kabir, has been transferred to Dhaka College.
