Dhaka, June 11 -- The price of 22-carat gold has fallen again by Tk 4,432 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price down to Tk 218,350.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) said on Thursday that the reduction was made in line with the decline in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.

The association said that the new rates came into effect at 10:00 am on Thursday.

Earlier, on June 2, the price of 22-carat gold was reduced by Tk 3,266 per bhori. It was then cut by Tk 5,481 on June 6, followed by another reduction of Tk 6,591 on June 10. On June 11, the price was further lowered by Tk 4,432.

As a result, the price of one bhori of high-quality gold has been reduced by a total of Tk 19,771 in four phases....
