Dhaka, May 3 -- Four more children died of measles-like symptoms across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Saturday, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest fatalities, the total number of deaths from suspected measles and measles-like symptoms has risen to 235 since mid-March this year, including 49 confirmed measles deaths, a DGHS bulletin said.

During the same period, 72 new confirmed measles cases were reported, along with 1,024 cases showing measles-like symptoms.

Since mid-March, a total of 39,325 suspected measles cases have been recorded, alongside 5,218 confirmed infections, the bulletin added.
