Dhaka, May 30 -- An infant with measles symptoms has died while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Medical College Hospital, taking the death toll from confirmed and suspected measles cases in the district to 17.

Rafsana, four months old, hailed from the Alipur area of Faridpur Sadar Upazila, according to Faridpur Civil Surgeon Dr Mahmudul Hasan, reports bdnews24.com.

In the 24 hours from Friday morning to Saturday morning, 45 patients with measles symptoms were admitted to hospitals in the district, according to the Civil Surgeon's Office. Another 93 patients were discharged following their recovery. Currently, 138 patients are receiving treatment for relevant symptoms at these hospitals.
