Bangladesh, Oct. 1 -- Market stakeholders have called for a phased and practical implementation of the proposed Corporate Governance Rules 2026, saying companies need adequate time and flexibility to comply without disrupting operations.

The securities regulator published the draft rules in May, which encompass a more comprehensive rule-based framework covering board composition, executive appointments, risk oversight, subsidiary operations and documentation.
