Bangladesh, Oct. 3 -- Signing the proposed deal is likely on October 7 for the buy of 10 Airbus aircraft for Biman Bangladesh Airlines, under an ambitious government plan for the national flag-carrier's fleet expansion.

Procurement of the European aircraft-manufacturer's airplanes is seen as a balancing option after the deal-making for purchasing 25 US Boeing aircraft under twin deals.

Biman authorities have held negotiations with Airbus representatives over the past few days, with talks continuing on Friday before the finish, according to a competent source.

"The deal is now at the final stage," he said, adding that October 7 is being considered as the date for signing the agreement.
