Dhaka, May 10 -- The Dhaka University Mass Communication and Journalism Alumni Association (DUMCJAA) has elected its new executive committee for the 2026-28 tenure through direct voting by its members.

Senior journalist and advisory editor of the Times of Bangladesh Elias Uddin Khan was elected president while Swadhin Media editor Shahnaz Sharmin Rinvy was elected general secretary uncontested.

The newly-elected vice presidents are Tariqul Islam Khan, deputy general manager (public relations) of Petrobangla; Gazipur Deputy Commissioner Md Nurul Karim Bhuiyan; former secretary general of Dhaka Reporters Unity Kabir Ahmed Khan; Prime Bank Executive Vice President Sharmin Akhter; and former journalist and analyst Sahed Alam.
