Bangladesh, July 17 -- Eight more children died with measles-like symptoms in the country in the past 24 hours until 8:0 am on Thursday, according to health authorities.

With the latest daily tally, the total fatalities from measles and measles-like symptoms rose to 779 since mid-March this year.

Of them, 95 were confirmed as measles cases, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said in its daily bulletin.

Meanwhile, as many as 974 suspected and 197 confirmed measles infections were reported in the past 24 hours.

With these, the total suspected measles infections rose to 115,138 and confirmed infections reached 14,104.
