Eastern Housing profit falls 19pc on weak Q4 earnings
Bangladesh, Oct. 7 -- Eastern Housing reported a more than 19 per cent year-on-year decline in profit to Tk 622 million in FY26, driven largely by a sharp fall in fourth-quarter earnings as rising construction costs and persistent inflation weighed on profitability.
The listed realtor's earnings per share (EPS) fell to Tk 6.66 for the year from Tk 8.27 in the previous year, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday.
The company's profit came under pressure due to slower economic growth, ongoing inflation and limited cash flow in the market, reducing demand for housing in the short term.
