Dhaka, March 10 -- All classes and examinations at the Dhaka University (DU) have been suspended from Monday (March 9) until the Eid holidays (March 28) in accordance with the directive of the Ministry of Education (MoE).

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the Syndicate on Sunday night with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan in the chair. The matter was confirmed through a press release, issued by the university's Public Relations Office, later that night.

According to the statement, the meeting discussed the government's notification and a letter from the University Grants Commission. In line with the directive of the MoE, all classes and examinations have been suspended from Monday until the Eid holidays.
