Dhaka, Feb. 26 -- The metro rail station at Dhaka University (DU) will remain closed for two hours on Thursday (today), centring the inauguration of the Amar Ekushey Book Fair by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

During the closure, no passengers will be allowed to enter or exit the station, and no trains will stop there.

The decision was taken by the Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) following a letter from the Bangla Academy.

The academy requested the DMTCL to keep the metro station temporarily closed from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm today.

According to the letter, the book fair and associated events will be held from February 26 to March 15 at the Bangla Academy premises and the adjoining Suhrawardy Udyan.
