Don't impose any more fees on banking services, CCCI urges BB governor
Bangladesh, July 17 -- The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI) sent an emergency letter to the Bangladesh Bank Governor on Wednesday requesting him not to entertain any proposal to impose any new charge or increase existing ones on any banking services, provided to bank clients.
CCCI President Mohammed Amirul Haque sent the letter to Bangladesh Bank Governor.
In the letter, the CCCI president said that through the reports published recently in news media, the business community has come to know that the Association of Bankers of Bangladesh (ABB) sent recently a proposal to Bangladesh Bank Governor to allow imposition of charges/fees on 14 new service heads as well as an increase in the rate on some heads of services.
