Dhaka, May 20 -- Daffodil International University (DIU) has launched a smart biogas plant at its Daffodil Smart City campus in Birulia, Savar, aiming to promote renewable energy and sustainable campus development.

The plant was inaugurated on May 18 through the ceremonial ignition of a biogas burner by Dr Md Sabur Khan, chairman of the university's Board of Trustees, according to a press release.

Among others present at the event were agricultural scientist Prof Dr M A Rahim, head of the Department of Agricultural Science and convener of the project, and Dr Fizar Ahmed, director of the Embedded System Research Center, along with faculty members, researchers, officials and students involved in the initiative.
