Bangladesh, Sept. 18 -- Bangladesh has not recorded any new dengue deaths in a 24-hour count, but 747 fresh hospitalisations of the disease have been logged across the country.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the death toll this year has reached 176, including 79 deaths in September -- the highest monthly figure so far.

The health directorate said on Thursday that 61 patients were admitted to hospitals in Dhaka North and 40 in Dhaka South in the 24 hours to 8am on Friday.

Outside the two city corporations, 216 were admitted elsewhere in the division.

The figures for other divisions were 25 in Barishal, 180 in Chattogram, 81 in Khulna, 92 in Mymensingh, and 52 in Rangpur.
