Bangladesh, July 29 -- Police have arrested Mobarak Hossain Emon aka David Emon, an absconding suspect accused in several cases in Chattogram on charges of murder and extortion.

Advertisement He was arrested from Jashore's Dhumdhumpur area in a joint operation by Jashore and Chattogram district police early on Wednesday morning, reports bdnews24.com.

Chattogram Superintendent of Police Masud Alam said, "Our operation is ongoing. Emon and four others have been arrested so far. Additional details will be made available after the operation ends."

Emon is a close associate of top Chattogram criminal Sajjad Ali Khan alias Boro Sajjad. Police say that Emon was carrying out various criminal activities on behalf of Sajjad in Chattogram.
