Bangladesh, Oct. 8 -- Bangladesh recorded a strong rebound year-on-year among the major Asian apparel exporters in August this year, as shipments to the key market increased despite a weaker cumulative performance during the January-August period.

According to data released by the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA), Bangladesh exported $734.6 million worth of apparel to the US in August 2026, compared with $660.9 million in August 2025.

Bangladesh recorded negative growth since January this year with the highest 17 per cent fall both in February and April except May and June when shipment recorded 6.0 per cent and 5.6 per cent year on year fall.
