Bangladesh, July 30 -- Customs intelligence has recovered more than Tk 1.91 million in additional duties, taxes and penalties after uncovering a false declaration involving an imported consignment at Chattogram Port.

Advertisement According to a Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) statement, its Chattogram regional office, acting on confidential information, conducted a physical examination of a consignment imported by Rainbow Corporation under Bill of Entry No. C-1138706, dated July 5, 2026.

The inspection found that the importer had declared 6,704.56 kilograms of chocolate, while the actual quantity was 7,132.25 kilograms.
