Dhaka, April 23 -- Bus fares have been increased by 11 paisa per kilometre following a rise in fuel prices.
In Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas, bus and minibus fares have been raised from Tk 2.42 to Tk 2.53 per kilometre, while the minimum fare remains unchanged at Tk 10.
On long-distance routes, fares have increased from Tk 2.12 to Tk 2.23 per kilometre.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister Sheikh Robiul Alam announced the revised fares at the Secretariat on Thursday (April 23).
The new fares would come into effect immediately from today (Thursday), the minister added.
