Bangladesh, Sept. 16 -- Top brokers of the Dhaka bourse laid importance on product diversification to reduce dependency on equity securities in the greater interest of the capital market, intermediaries and investors.

Advertisement They came up with the suggestion on Tuesday at a meeting at the office of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE). The premier bourse convened the meeting with the top 30 brokers against the backdrop of the persistent market decline that eroded 188 points in the last five consecutive sessions.

According to meeting participants, the chief executive officer of a leading brokerage firm told the meeting that survival would be more difficult if new products were not introduced in the market.
