Dhaka, April 26 -- BRAC Bank contributed sewing machines to 78 individuals with hearing and speech impairments, including 44 women, helping them maintain independence and earn income.
Participants completed six months of tailoring and business training through BRAC Bank's 'Aporajeyo Ami' programme in partnership with the Bangladesh National Federation of the Deaf (BNFD), according to a media release.
On April 23, 2026, BRAC Bank and BNFD awarded sewing machines and certificates, equipping graduates for home businesses or jobs.
The trainees organised an exhibition to showcase their work. So far, 20 participants have secured jobs, highlighting the programme's positive impact.
