Bangladesh, July 14 -- The parliament has approved the Bogura University Bill 2026, paving the way for the establishment of a full-fledged university in Bogura.

Advertisement Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon presented the bill in parliament on Tuesday, and it was passed by voice vote.

The new law repeals the Bogura Science and Technology University Act, 2001, under which no academic activities were ever launched.

Opposition members proposed referring the bill to a committee for public opinion and further scrutiny, but the proposals were rejected by voice vote after discussion on the bill's general principles.
