Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- Bangladesh will safeguard its independence and sovereignty while adhering to a policy of noninterference in the internal affairs of other states, the foreign minister said after several diplomats Monday discussed bilateral ties in new perspective.
Speaking to reporters after meetings with the foreign envoys at the foreign ministry in Dhaka, Khalilur Rahman outlined what he described as the guiding principles of the new government's foreign policy.
"We will protect our independence and sovereignty. We will not interfere in each other's internal affairs, and our policies will be based on mutual interests and national dignity," he said.
